This is the premier location at Chautauqua Institution, directly on the town square, Bestor Plaza, in an elevatorair-conditioned building that is new all-steel fireproof construction (1988), carefully designed and decorated to fit into Victorian Chautauqua.  The lower level offers shops, a spa, and a deli in season. Everything is at your fingertips.
Location: #317 is a quiet corner unit on the third floor at Ames & Wythe Avenues.  Just across the Plaza are the Post Office, Chautauqua Bookstore, and Afterwords Cafe, and Library and in season the Brick Walk Cafe.  A few more steps and you will enjoy all that the Amphitheater, and the Hall of Philosophy have to offer.
Parking: guests at the St. Elmo during the Summer Assembly purchase parking in the institution lots as there is no parking on site. On street parking is allowed post-Season.  Mobility scooters are not allowed in our condo and must be parked behind the building.
Kitchen: full-size refrigerator, electric range, dishwasher, disposer, microwave, coffee maker, ample cabinets
Living/ Dining: table with 6 chairs, buffet, sofa, coffee table, wingback chair, occasional chair,  antique marble top table. flat-screen TV, DVD.
1st Bath: Tub-Shower combination, sink, toilet.
1st Bedroom: Refurbished '40's deco chest of drawers, vanity dresser, queen-size bed, large closet
2nd Bedroom: Twin beds, chest of drawers, end table, large closet
2nd Bath (accessed from 2nd bedroom): walk-in shower, sink, toilet
Two Private Porches: double-long porch with chaise, dining table, six chairs, flower boxes, accessed from living room and queen-bedroom.  A smaller porch with chairs and flower boxes accessed from twin bedroom.
Decoration and Furnishings: Unit #317 is nicely and comfortably furnished in a mixture of antiques and refurbished '40's deco with new carpeting and some new seating in the living room.
Cleaning: The apartment is carefully cleaned for each tenant by personally chosen housekeepers who have been with us for many years. These pros know what cleanliness is.
Laundry: The washer and dryer are located on the same floor just outside the front door of the apartment.
Supplies: #317 is fully equipped with bedding, linens, towels, dishes, flatware, and quality cooking utensils. Guests don’t need to bring anything; just unpack and enjoy your Chautauqua vacation.
No animals. No smoking. The condominium regulations do not allow our guests to bring animals.
