30 Miller Park (a/k/a 1 South Terrace)

1. A Little History

Thank you for your interest in our Miller Lakeview Apartments, located in Chautauqua, NY. This traditional Chautauqua house has been in the family for over 50 years. The apartments overlook Miller Park in the heart of Chautauqua's historic district. In fact, ours is one of the most historic houses in this most historic of places. Thomas Edison is said to have slept here while successfully courting Mina Miller, daughter of Chautauqua Institution cofounder, Lewis Miller, who lived next door.

Our house sits a few steps above Miller Park, a few more steps from the lake, and a couple minutes’ walk in the other direction from the plaza, the bookstore, and the Colonnade. The Amphitheater is two short blocks to the south.

2. Features

All our porches, with their stunning views of Miller Park and the lake beyond, were completely rebuilt in 2003. A brand-new deck was added off the Apartment 3 kitchen in 2014.  Though we have furnished our two-bedroom apartments with numerous antiques, this Apartment 3 has a wholly renovated kitchen as of 2023 with all new appliances and cabinets. The bathrooms and plumbing in all apartments were completely rebuilt several years ago. Wi-Fi is available to our tenants. Regardless, the house retains its old Chautauqua charm.

3. Pets

Well behaved dogs are welcome. But they must be restrained from barking whether or not a Tenant is at home. And of course, they must be restrained from destroying the property.
