These rooms are located on the second, third and fourth floors of the Ashland and have a minimum of one double bed, but many feature both a double and a twin bed. All of these double occupancy rooms have a ceiling fan, window A/C and use of the guest kitchen. The guest kitchen is open 24 hours and is conveniently located on the ground level. The kitchen is fully equipped with three full size refrigerators, a gas cooktop, microwaves, and coffee makers and a Keurig for your use. All guests are given a personal dish towel labeled with their room number. All porches are shared and a great way to meet new friends. Prefer weekly rentals. Will consider nightly rentals during the season. Please call Julie at 716-570-1025.

I have stayed at the Ashland a week or two at a time, for 9 seasons. I enjoy preparing my meals in the community kitchen and the chance to meet the friendly, interesting guests to discuss the day's lectures and concerts. You can sit inside, or if you prefer, on one of the many porches while you enjoy your meal. You can stay in a room with a private bath, or save money my using the shared bathrooms on every floor, they are never too busy and are kept immaculate. The location of the inn is in the middle of everything, so you don't have to walk very far to lectures and classes. The Ashland is right on the bus/tram route, if you need a lift most anywhere. I can't imagine staying anywhere else at Chautauqua, for the amenities and the price!- Tina B , Posted: 09/08/2018
What makes the Ashland great is what it isn't. No air conditioning, no privates baths (although there is a sink in each room), no door locks, no elevator, no toiletries (linens and towels are provided). Simple, comfortable beds, gorgeous handmade quilts. The kitchen is a delight -- 3 refrigerators, shelf space, all the pots, pans, dishes, silverware you need. Plenty of stove burners, toaster oven, microwave, equipment. The kitchen and porches promote conversation and community. Julie is a great owner; friendly, helpful and accomodating in every way. Fabulous location. Best deal on the grounds. I'll be back next year.- Lorraine A , Posted: 08/29/2018
This was our first visit to Chautauqua, and we were so glad that we decided to stay at The Ashland. Aside from the convenience of being centrally located right next to the Plaza, we found our accommodations to be comfortable and were immediately welcomed “home” by owner Julie. Though we were only there for a long weekend, we had the opportunity to meet so many lovely and interesting veteran Chatauquans. I highly recommend The Ashland if you are looking to experience what Chautauqua is all about!- Megan D , Posted: 08/22/2018
The Ashland Guest House rents rooms for the weekend. We stayed on the 4th floor, in a small room, AC, private bathroom with toilet and tub/shower, refrigerator, stove, and one sink which doubles as both a bathroom and kitchen sink. The porch was delightful, and it provided a lovely breeze on a hot weekend. Julie and her husband were delightful, and I would stay there again in the future!- Kathy A , Posted: 08/15/2016
I have stayed at the Ashland for a week each in 2013 and 2014 and will be there again in 2015 and for as long as I can make it. I like the central location, the shared kitchen where I have met great people from different parts of the country, the balconies where I can sit and listen to the air and birds and trees and campanile, and the victorian feel. And also the wi fi -- thanks, Julie, smile.- Sandra P , Posted: 10/28/2014
